DR. ALFRED KWESI MANYEH is a trained Epidemiologist, Implementation Scientist and a Research Fellow at the Institute of Health Research, University of Health and Allied Sciences (UHAS), Ho, Ghana.
Education
He had a Bachelor of Science degree in Economics, Mathematics-Statistics at Methodist University College, Accra, Ghana and a Master of Science degree in Epidemiology at University of Witwatersrand, Johannesburg, South Africa. He had PhD in Epidemiology (Implementation Science) at University of Witwatersrand, Johannesburg, South Africa.
Work experience
Prior to Dr. Manyeh joining UHAS, he was a Research Scientist at the Dodowa Health Research Centre. He worked as Head of Field Operations during the establishment of Dodowa Health and Demographic Surveillance System (DHDSS). He became the Head of data management unit of the DHDSS.
Science /Research output
His areas of research are Neglected Tropical Diseases, Maternal, Neonatal and Child Health, Health and Demographic Surveillance Systems, and Implementation Science. He published articles in peer-reviewed journals and presented his research papers at national and international conferences.
His vision is to design and conduct policy-relevant public health and implementation research in an ethical manner, in partnership with communities and other stakeholders to make substantial contributions to improving community health and well-being of the rural poor in Africa.
