DR. ROBERT KABA ALHASSAN is currently a Senior Research Fellow at the Centre for Health Policy and Implementation Research (CHIPR), Institute of Health Research (IHR). He is also the Ag. Dean of International Programmes at the University of Health and Allied Sciences (UHAS), Ho.
Education
Dr. Kaba had PhD training in the area of Public Health specializing in Medical Technical Quality (University of Amsterdam, Netherlands); MPhil (University of Ghana, Legon); BA (University of Ghana, Legon); RGN (University of Ghana, Legon)
Work experience
Before joining UHAS, he was the Head of Research at the Health Training Institutions Secretariat, Ministry of Health Headquarters and a PhD Researcher at the Noguchi Memorial Institute for Medical Research and Amsterdam Institute for Global Health and Development (AIGHD), Netherlands.
Science /Research output
Research interests include advocacy for health equity and universal health coverage; improving quality of pre-service training for healthcare professionals through mentorship and innovative solutions, and systematic community engagement in health. Other research areas are prioritization of client-centered care in health systems; implementation research; patient safety; sustainable healthcare financing interventions to strengthen health systems in resource limited countries, and promotion of cutting-edge scientific research to inform evidence-based health policies. His passion is to leverage his professional clinical experience and research expertise to influence public health policy and control the burden of preventable diseases in developing countries.
